It’s clear Victoria needs rental reform.
✅ We need to cap rent increases — to cope with out-of-control rents, which are rising 4x faster than wages.
✅ We need to address the power imbalance between renters and landlords & estate agents, with a Housing Ombudsman to enforce renter rights.
✅ And we need better conditions in rental homes and stronger protections against unfair evictions, as well as long-term leases to provide security to those who want to make their rentals their long-term homes.
