This proposal by the Queensland State Government to tax landowners beyond its borders isn’t fair or right for the people of this state.
If they’re going to use assessments beyond the borders of a state, there’s no doubt it’s in flagrant breach of section 92 of the constitution and it should be brought to the attention of the State Government immediately, and I am requesting immediate action from the Federal Government.
Section 92 of The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act requires that “Trade within the Commonwealth to be free.”
